The social condition in Russia before 1905 was that the majority religion was Russian Orthodox Christianity which had grown out of the Greek Orthodox Church,but the empire also included Catholics, Protestants,Muslims and Buddhists. Russian nationalists weren't given freedom to follow their culture and language. Workers were divided by skill and training.

The economic condition in Russia before 1905 was that the vast majority if Russia's people were agriculturalists. About 85% of the Russian empire's population earned their living from agriculture. Craftsmen undertook much of the education, but large factories existed alongside craft workshops. Foreign investment in industry increased. Total production doubled and iron and steel output quadrupled. The workers were exploited by the capitalists who made their life miserable.

The political condition in Russia before 1905 was that Russia was a monarch. The Tsar's believed in the divine rights of kings. All political parties were illegal in Russia.
