Jagir is the right answer.

Mughal emperor Akbar introduced a system of administration and revenue collection, most commonly known as the Mansabdari system. In this system, every officer in the empire was given a rank or mansab and a jagir through which they could collect the revenue. The jagir was fixed as the salary and allowance for the officers. In return of their mansabs officers were required to pay military and financial services to the empire.
