I'm also giving chemistry class 12 board exam tomorrow.

Some suggestions:

  • Revise well today. Revise all physical chem formulas and the named reactions. Don't try to cram up your brain by learning any big concepts.
  • Don't revise in the last moment i.e. just few hours before the exam. Trust me, this won't be much helpful and can also disturb your mental balance. Better to revise the previous day instead and have a good night's sleep (atleast 7 hours)
  • In the 15 mins reading time, read all questions, plan your strategy properly. Better to go in the following order: section A -> D -> C -> B. Why? because section A, having mcqs, requires lot of thinking. Doing this the last minute won't let u think properly and u will lose marks. Section D has 5 marks each, missing any of these questions can bring down ur marks badly.
  • If the paper is lengthy, don't lose your cool in the last 5-10 mins. Teacher may say tie your paper, start revising, and students will be flipping their pages loudly. Just ignore those voices, clear your ahead, and attempt remaining questions in the fastest manner possible. Even if u dont get revision time its fine. Attempting all the questions is most important.
  • Attempt the questions which u know well, first. It will give a good impression to the examiner. It is fine even if the order is random, the examiner can never cut your marks.
  • In the 1 mark questions, just write one word or max one line answers. In 2 markers, just write bullet points or 1 line answers. Have u seen cbse's marking schemes? They are just looking for points, there's no need of writing paragraphs.
  • That brings me to my last point, if you manage to get 5-10 mins after finishing the paper, do revise as well as underline important points in the 3 or 4 markers. The examiners don't leisurely correct your papers. As soon as they see the points, they will give marks. This also adds to the examiner's impression.

All the best for CBSE BOARDS 2020!
