The three main contributions of land routes to lndia in ancient times were :
(i) The mountain passes across the mountains in the north have provided passages to the travellers in ancient times. These routes have contributed to the exchange of ideas and merchandise in ancient times, eg, muslin and spices.
(ii) The ideas of Upanishads,‘ Ramayana, stories of Panchtantra, the decimal system and Hindu numerals spread to many parts of the world.
(iii) The influence of Greek Culture 'can be seen in lndian architecture and sculpture. The construction of dome and minaret from West Asia can be seen in many parts of India
