abanindranath tagore did not accept the painting style of Raja Ravi Verma. he felt that an indian style of painting should draw inspiration from non western art traditions. so he did not approve of the oil and realistic style of painting and turned to mediaeval Indian traditions of miniature painting and mural paintings.
