Ashoka was a humanitarian approach towards governance & policy making.It spread kindness,generosity,ahimsa & piety.It encouraged him to adopt certain welfare measure like the construction of rest houses,hospitals & dispensaries,planting trees like banyan & mangroves,dug wells,medicinal plants unavailable were imported & planted.He also condemned animal sacrifices & such rituals etc
