Correction of question :- What were they wearing?

Starting the sentence with He Said is not possible bro.

If we use "he said" then it would become a direct speech.

Or if we not use the words which you said then a sentence may be possible in indirect speech.

Let's see how :-

Case 1 :-

He said,"What were they wearing?"

Case 2 :-

He wanted to know what they were wearing.

Or may be it can be written like this :-

Case 3 :-

He said,"what were they wearing then?"

case 4 :-

He said that what were they wearing.

It seems legit but obviously not.

We can change the condition to "he asked",then sentence would look like this :-

We can change the condition to "he asked",then sentence would look like this :-He asked what they were wearing.
