• Throughout Arunachal Pradesh, only few girls obtain higher education. Only about 10% of all girls appear for plus two examinations  and take up higher studies.. The rest of the students avoid their studies because of various causes. The significant reasons for this are, as there will be no financial gains, etc, because of gender inequality, such as conventional family decisions. The trend is pretty much the same for in case of higher education.When we look at the "overall educational status" there is a huge decline/variation in the "proportion of education of girls" from primary to higher education.
• Different tribal groups in the rural region of Arunachal Pradesh are at different growth stages. The role of women inherently varies within communities. The privilege of tribal people is embedded in the mythology & tradition. Women's heritage status relies primarily on their economic and political privileges, whether tribal or non-tribal. Women's role is acceptable but not quite good in Arunachal Pradesh. There has no decline in the incidence of polygamy and bride rates. A large number of women are living below poverty line and they suffer also from "nutritional deficiency".
• The victims of tribal culture are usually deprived of the same political and property rights and tribal women have been subject to child marriage, domestic violence, etc." Tribal women have a busy life and support men in nearly every area of life. They are often active, in reality, from cooking until hard work; they are the cornerstone of the pastoral tribal economy. Yet they remain dependent economically on their male partner and are essentially hold a subordinate position. They do  not have a share in the immovable property at all. Besides, decision making & exercising of authority go under power of men.

Constitutional Provisions for the Upliftment of Women

• The Indian Constitution not only gives women equal rights but also enables the state to take positive discrimination measures in favor of women in order to neutralize the social economic, educational & political cumulative disadvantages that women face. Fundamental freedoms, among others, guarantee equality before the law and fair treatment under the law; forbid prejudice against all people for purposes under faith, races, castes and/or gender and the place of birth.
• The State has introduced numerous statutory steps to enforce the constitutional mandate in order to provide civil protection, to address gender injustice and specific types of abuse and atrocities and in particular to offer assistance to working people. • The "73rd constitutional amendment legislation", enacted in 1992 by Parliament, ensures that "one-third" of the Panchayati Raj Seat is reserved for women. In January 1992 the govt created this legislative body (National Commission of Women) with a clear mandate to research and track all matters related to constitutional  & legal protections given for women, to examine existing laws and recommend amendments where appropriate etc. The "National Action Plan for the Girl Child (1991-2000") is planned to ensure the girl's security , safety and growth with the overarching aim of ensuring a sustainable life for the girl child
