- Anti- British feeling spread to the nook and corner of the nation.
- Intensify Hindu - Muslim unity.
The reasons for the khilafat movement was that Britain tried to limit the power of Khalifa , the Ottoman- Turkish ruler and spiritual leader of world Muslims . This lead to the world wide protest of the Muslims against Britain. Britain occupied the Ottoman region along with Egypt under the British mandate( after the first world war Ottoman Empire was in the alley of the losers(Triple Alliance)) thus the khalifa's power became limited.
