Burning a candle.......

when a candle is burnt, change in state takes place. For example,when wax is burnt, then water and carbon dioxide are formed. Now, wax is a solid, water is a liquid and CO2 is a gas. This means that during combustion reaction of wax, the physical state changes.

Thus, combustion of candle wax is characterised by a change in state from solid to liquid and gas..

This could probably be an example of chemical reaction with change in state.

Here the wax gets melted which is change in state and formation of a sooty flame is a chemical change.(CO2)
