Pressure is defined as force acting on a unit area of the object.
pressure=Force/ area
Pressure depends on two factors:
a) Force applied
b) Area over which force acts.
1) When area is doubled : [keeping force constant]
P=F/A ----(1)
If A=2A then P1=F/2A=1/2(F/A)=P/2
When area is doubled , the impact on pressure acting on a object will be decreased .
2)If area is halved: [keeping the force constant]
If A=A/2
then P2=F/A/2=2P
If area is halved, then the impact of pressure acting on the object will be increased.

Pressure is that force which acts on unit area of any object.
Pressure=Force/Area
P=F/A
Above relation shows that Pressure P is directly proportional to Force F and inversely proportional to Area A when other quantity is kept constant. So
(1) When Area A is doubled pressure is halved.
(2) Area A is halved Pressure P is doubled.
Pressure=Force/Area
P=F/A

(1) When Area A is doubled pressure is halved.
(2) Area A is halved Pressure P is doubled.
