\textbf{Answer :}

We know a trigonometric identity

sec²x - tan²x = 1 ...(i)

Now, (1 - tanx) (1 + tanx)

= 1 + tanx - tanx - tan²x

= 1 - tan²x

We can also write the answer in terms of secx

Now, 1 - tan²x

= 1 - (sec²x - 1)

= 1 - sec²x + 1

= 2 - sec²x

(1-tanx)(1+tanx)
1(1-tanx)+tanx(1-tanx)
1-tanx+tanx-tan(x)2
1-tan(x)2
