what will be the answer
A box is resting on the floor. To move it a variable force is applied as shown in the diagram .
a. give the likely value of the force of the limiting friction .
b. why does the box stay at rest in the cases corresponding to figure a and figure b ?
c.mark the direction of the frictional force and mention the kind of frictional force that comes into place in each case .

b) the boxes still remain rest when an external forces act on the boxes the force if friction known as static friction come into play and oppose the motion of the box
