first of all we need to draw the free body diagram of the given block and then we need to calculate the maximum value of static friction which comes out to be 8 Newton since the applied force is less the maximum value of static friction therefore friction force will rearrange its value to 2.8 Newtons to oppose the motion of block (if there is no sliding in the the body land of friction force must be less than or equal to its maximum value)
