What will be the change in the total surface area of the two pieces as compared to the given cylinder if a right circular cylinder of base diameter 10 cm and height 15 cm is cut into two equal pieces vertically?

Answer:

DIAMETER = 10 cm

RADIUS= 5cm

HEIGHT= 15cm

TSA= 2*3.14*5(5+15)

= 748cmsq

Now,

Half TSA= 748/2

= 374cmsq

Now as it is cut we will get a rectangle and semi cylinder

So the TSA will be area of rectangle+half tsar of cylinder

TSA= 15*10+374

= 150+374

= 524 cmsq
