Answer

  • pink
  • colorless
  • pink

Explanation

  1. Phenolphthalein is often used as an indicator in acid-base titrations. It is slightly soluble soluble in water. It turns acidic in acidic solution and turns pink in basic solution. Since soap solution is basic, so phenophthalein turns pink in pink solution.
  2. Phenolphthalein is often used as an indicator in acid–base titrations. For this application, it turns colorless in acidic solutions and pink in basic solutions.
  3. Phenolphthalein is basic indicator which remain colorless in acidic and neutral solution and turns pink or magenta in basic solution. (i) when few drops of phenolphthalein is added to sodium hydroxide, the solution turns deep pink as NaOH is a strong base.
