Explanation:
(i)The effect of the platelet response is to stop the bleeding and to form the site of the developing blood clot, or thrombus. If platelets are absent, this important defense reaction cannot occur, and protracted bleeding from small wounds (prolonged bleeding time) results.

Explanation:
(i) Platelets help in blood clotting in case of an injury. If there are no platelets, the blood would not clot in case of an injury and there will be an excess blood loss, which can even lead to the death of the person.
(ii)The cuticle is a water proof layer which gives protection to the leaf from adverse conditions and prevents water loss and mechanical injury. In case, the cuticle is removed, there will be an intense loss of water through transpiration which can result in dehydration of the plant and ultimately leading to its death. There will also be no protection against mechanical injury and other parasites.
