Modern farming methods causes various ecological problems. Also the usage of fertilizers, HYVs,pesticides and herbicides can cause the problems like land degradation , wastage of ground water resources and also the destruction of the soil structure by killing the microorganisms that live in it. Punjab is the first state both in starting this practice and suffering from its consequences .Actually they used this for getting high ( maximum ) productivity of land.
