Step-by-step explanation:

Lateral surface area of room=2(l+b)*h

=2(10+8)*4

=2*18*4

=144m^2

Cost of painting =Rs11 per square metres

Total cost of painting = 144*11

=Rs 1584

Given :

  • Length of Room = 10m
  • Breadth of Room = 8m
  • Height of Room = 4m
  • Rate of Painting = Rs 11 per m²

 \\

To Find :

  • Total Cost of Painting the Room

 \\

Solution :

✰ Let's understand the Question first, in this question Length, Breadth and Height of the room along with the Rate of Painting is given and we have to find the Total Cost of Painting the Room. So we know that, the total area to be painted is one celling and four walls of the room and we also know that Area of four walls is given by 2(Length + Breadth) × Height and Area of celling is given by Length × Breadth . So we will find the area of four walls and the area the celling separately after that we will add them to get the total area to be painted. Now after getting the total area to be painted we will multiple the total area by 11 as rate of painting is Rs 11 per m².

⠀⠀

⟼ Area of 4 walls = 2(L + B) × h

⟼ Area of 4 walls = 2(10 + 8) × 4

⟼ Area of 4 walls = 2 × 18 × 4

⟼ Area of 4 walls = 8 × 18

⟼ Area of 4 walls = 144m²

⠀⠀

and,

⠀⠀

⟼ Area of Celling = Length × Breadth

⟼ Area of Celling = 10 × 8

⟼ Area of Celling = 80m²

⠀⠀

now,

⠀⠀

⟼ Area = area of walls + area of celling

⟼ Total Area = 144 + 80

⟼ Total Area = 224m²

⠀⠀

so,

⠀⠀

⟼ Cost = Total Area × Rate of Painting

⟼ Total Cost = 224 × 11

⟼ Total Cost = Rs 2464

⠀⠀

Thus Total Cost of Painting the Room is Rs 2464
