ɢɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Power (P) = 40W
  • Potential difference (V) = 220V

ᴛᴏ ғɪɴᴅ :-

  • Current(I)

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

As we know that

→ P = VI

→ 40 = 220 × I

→ I = 40/220

→ I = 0.18 A

Hence,

  • Current (I) drawn by electric bulb is 0.18A

Answer :

  • The current , I drawn will be 0.18 Amperes

Given :

  • Electric bulb of 40 W when it is connected to source of 220 V

To Find :

  • Current drawn

Solution :

Power , P = 40 W

Potential difference , V = 220 V

Current , I = ? A

We know that , " Power is defined as the product of potential difference and current "

P = VI

⇒ 40 = 220 * I

I = 0.18 A
