Given : a household spends 80% of his income on a good

To Find : degree measure of an angle in the pie diagram

Solution:

in Pie diagram 100 % refers to 360°  angle

100  %   =   360°

1 %  = (360/100) = 3.6°

80 %  = 80 x 3.6°

=> 80 %  =  288°

if a household spends 80% of his income on a good then degree measure of an angle in the pie diagram = 288°

Answer:

288 degrees

Explanation:

Speaking in general, a pie chart gives a percentage or angular representation of a particular data when it is compared to all the data set. A complete pie chart gives a shape of a circle having 360 degrees angle

Now considering the given data,

Let pie chart fully represents the income spending

Now percentage of income spent of a good is 80%

Total degrees in a complete circle are 360

Angular representation of that good will be;

= 80 / 100 x 360

= 288 degrees
