the displacement covered by the object will be zero as because the displacement is defined as the total distance between the starting and initial point and as the object move further and after that just its came back then the displacement will obviously zero

Displacement is calculated on the basis of initial and final position. If initial and final position are same, displacement is zero. But distance is the total distance covered from initial to final position. So, it cannot be zero in this case
