i will consider we are talking about a plane mirror

so distance of object from mirror = distance of image from mirror

so if object is placed at 3m distance then distance between object and image, which is the sum of distance of object and distance of image = 6m

but if the object is moved 3 times its original position the new position would be 3x3m=9m

therefore, the distance between object and image now = 18m
