Answer:

lime water becomes milky because of the carbondioxide from the exhaled air. The carbon dioxide in our exhaled air reacts with the calcium hydroxide in the lime water to produce calcium carbonate which is milky in color.

Lime Water is Ca(OH)2 (Calcium Hydroxide)

Therefore, when Calcium Hydroxide combines with Carbon Dioxide it leaves a milky white precipitate.This precipitate is called CaCO​3.

This can be showed in the form of an equation.

Ca(OH)2 + CO2 ➜ CaCO3 + H2
