Hello!
The answer for your question in one word is;
*Imbalance in the ecosystem*

Why is it so?
Let me help you by giving an example to explain the imbalance that will be caused to the ecosystem, it is long, so bear with me.

-> Imbalance of the ecosystem is a serious issue.

-> Usually, in the ecological pyramid, the producers and eaten by the primary consumers which inturn gets devoured by secondary consumers and tertiary consumers.

-> If only one organism becomes food for others, there will be disturbances in the pyramid.

-> Let's say if the rat becomes the only source of food. You might know, that rat can be eaten by a snake, a hawk, a wolf etc. So, there will be an immense competition between these animals for rat as their food. Due to this, the population of rats decrease at an immense rate causing the rat-dependent animals to lose their source of meal. In return to this, the secondary consumer population decreases

-> When the secondary consumer population decreases, the dependent tertiary consumer population decreases as well, resulting in the worst case scenario of extinction of those animals. When these animals become extinct, the already dead primary consumers may reborn and feed on producers which would reduce their population.

-> Everything in an ecosystem is interrelated to each other. Even if as small as a fly or as useless as a mosquito goes extinct, the dependent animals also vanish from the area

Hope you got the answer. Feel free to correct me

HELLO FRIEND HERE IS YOUR ANSWER,,,,,,,

If only one type of organism supports the whole ecosystem for many consumers then there'll be a natural or artificial polarities affecting the ecological niche, occupation, dependence, numbers or resources, etc.

Ecological imbalances may happen due to Human interference but it'd be a more correct terminology to use in the context of "Naturally and Human-Made occurring deaths" by certain unavoidable calamities inferring a disproportionate numbering into the system, Hence, increasing the survival adaptations and techniques in order to go through the disaster and revert the number of organisms to a higher value, albeit competitive nature arise between the organism for recovering the resources avoiding any harm or damaging themselves in the process due to strenuous competition.

For an example to demonstrate the increasingly unpopular change in the population, take a grass field as a starter. Here, this field serves at least 300,000 and more organisms to support and depend themselves onto taking the resources, now, if the field is decreased to such a level, organisms look for another alternative or compete for that resource to be obtained under any circumstances.

If they fail, they're either killed or survived in that stage (depending upon many factors or "techniques"), if surviving the immense loaded competition works, they'll move to another region or keep their best changes till they succeed to win a piece of resource to satisfy their systems and obtain energy, for continuing their progenies.

Producers get their population reduced due to a course of natural disaster, human intended altercation, more number of predatory organisms, etc. is in a route to Reduction of Primary consumers due to lesser resources or decreasement in nutrient supply in turn affecting the basic terms of adapting survival methods of Secondary, Tertiary, Quaternary, etc. Consumers thus, affecting the whole system and disrupting smooth flow of population.

If the Base of everything gets affected in any ways, the whole ecosystem balance subsequently changes hence, affecting other organisms interconnected to one another for dependence upon resource and materials for progenetical survival.

Hope this helps you and gives a detailed view for this question!!!!
