what will be the effect on the position of zero deflection in a potentiometer if 1. length of potentiometer wire is doubled and 2. the current flowing in potentiometer wire is decreased ?

Whenever the length of the wire is doubled, the potential gradient across the wire will decrease . Because of this the position of zero deflection will occur at longer length.
