A plastic is a wide range of synthetic or semi-synthetic organic solids that are moldable. They are usually synthetic, most commonly derived from petrochemicals, but many are partially of natural origin.

Plastics are of two types

• Thermoplastic - those plastics that can be remoulded on heating, for example, polyethylene.

• Thermosetting plastic - those plastic that cannot be remoulded by heating, for example bakelite.

The pollution which is caused due to the accumulation of plastic products in the environment is known as plastic pollution. Since plastic is not decompose by natural sources it get accumulated and affects the nature in many ways such as it is harmful for plant growth, wildlife habitat and also harmful for human being. The gases produce after burning of plastic pollute environment. Plastic pollution can adversely affect lands, waterways and oceans.

Plastics have following harmful effects:

1) Choking hazard if consumed directly

2) Release toxic gases during production and on combustion.

3) Being non biodegradable cause disposal problems.

4) Contain hazardous chemicals like BPA, PVC.

Alternative to plastic bags are many such as paper bags, jute bags and other fabric bags which all are biodegradable and cause no harm to the environment.

So, If plastic bags are continued to be used by us then it would affect adversely. It would affect lands, waterways and oceans in the next fifty years pure badly.

The use of increased amount of plastic bags will ends up landfills.

It will be the effect over next fifty years if plastic bags are continued to be used by us.

The more usage of plastic already creates environmental pollution.

If the process is continued, it will cause some other hassles in future.

The future generation may see lots of plastic bags in sea than fish.
