U = mgh (U is potential energy)

h = (mg)/U

h = (1*10)/1

h = 10m

Similar Question:

An object of mass 1 kg is raised through a height of "h". Its Potential Energy increases by 1 Joule. Find the height "h".

(using g = 10 m/s^{2})

Given:

Mass = 1 kg

Potential Energy = 1 Joule

To Find:

Height "h"

Formula:

PE = mgh

H = \frac{m*g}{pe}

where,

pe = potential energy

m = mass

g = acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s^{2}

h = height

Solution:

Potential Energy = m x g x h

                           1 = 1 x 10 x h

                           h = \frac{1}{10}

                              = o.1 m
