TO DETERMINE

The highest three digit number which when divided by 3, 7 and 21 leaves remainder 2

EVALUATION

Here the given numbers are 3 , 7 , 21

Now the LCM of 3 , 7 , 21 = 21

Now the highest three digit number = 999

If we divide 999 by 21 we get 47 as Quotient and 12 as Remainder

So the highest three digit number which is completely divisible by 3, 7 and 21 is 987

So the highest three digit number which when divided by 3, 7 and 21 leaves remainder 2 is

 = 987 + 2

 = 989
