What will be the major product obtained when 2-bromobutane reacts with alcoholic potassium hydroxide? State the type of reaction involved in it?

This is an example of elimination reaction

The products formed will be: 2 butene (Major) and 1 butene (Minor)

CH_3-CHBr-CH_2-CH_3 + KOH = CH_3-CH=CH-CH_3 2 butene

and CH_2=CH-CH_2-CH_3 1 butene
