--> (12 g/mol) / (6.022e23/mol) = 1.9927e-23 g OK

--> 12 amu = 12 × 1.66e-24 g = 1.992e-23 g OK

--> 12 amu × 1.66e-24 g = 1.992e-23 g × 1.66e-24 g = 3.3e-47 g^2 NOT OK

Note that this is all rather circular, since Atomic mass unit is defined in terms of the mass of the 12C mass...

hope it will help you..

Deepsbhargav: So 1 amu = (1.9987e-23 g)/12 = 1.66e-24 g
Deepsbhargav: Now coming to part where you multiplied 12 amu to 1.66e-24 g.
Deepsbhargav: Carbon have 12 intra nuclear particles
Deepsbhargav: i.e 6 protons and 6 neutrons
Deepsbhargav: each having avg mass of 1 amu which is equivalent to 1.66e-24 g.
Deepsbhargav: jaha smj na aaye bta dena
Deepsbhargav: When you multiply it by 12 you again get mass of C12 atom in gram
Deepsbhargav: but do not use amu unit with 12 because here 12 is the number of particles each having mass of 1.66e-24.
Deepsbhargav: So mass of C12 = 12×(1.66e-24 g) = 1.9927e-23 g
Deepsbhargav: abhi samaj aaya
