Given,

Volume of gas { V }_{ 1 }= 500dm^3

Pressure of gas { P }_{ 1 }  = 1 bar

Volume of compressed gas { V }_{ 2 }  = 200dm^3

Let { P }_{ 2 } be the pressure required to compress the gas.

Therefore, at constant temperature

Boyle’s Law is { { P }_{ 1 }V }_{ 1 }={ P }_{ 2 }{ V }_{ 2 }

{ P }_{ 2 }=\frac { 1\times 500 }{ 200 } =2.5\quad bar

Hence, minimum pressure required = 2.5 bar.
