Hi,

Given:

Mass of HCl=18.25 g

Mass of water=500g=0.5kg

To Find:

Molality of the solution

Solution:

Molality is given by the equation,

Molality=Number of moles of solute/Mass of solvent in kg

We know that,

Here solute given is HCl

Molar mass of HCl=1+35.5=36.5g

Number of moles of solute=Given mass of HCl/Molar mass of HCl

                                            =18.25/36.5=0.5 moles

Substitute the given datas in the equation for molality

We get,

Molality=0.5/0.5=1 m

Hope this helps you.
