Molarity = moles x givenvol(ml)/1000

Moles = 5.85/58.5= 1/10

Molarity = 1/10 x 500/1000
Molarity= 1/20
Molarity= 0.05M

JunaidMirza: In third line it should be “(1/10) × (1000/500)”

Molarity = Moles of solute / Volume of solution in litres
= [(5.85 g) / 58.5 g/mol)] / (500 ml × 10^-3 L/mol)
= 0.2 mol / Litre

Molarity of given solution is 0.2 M
