Copper sulphate hydrolyse in water to give cupric hydroxide which is weak base and sulphuric acid which is strong acid. So hydrogen ion is more than hydroxyl ion in water.As a result the solution is acidic. The release of H+ ions by hydrolysis makes the solution distinctly acidic.
