In cl(chlorine)atom No of electron=17

Explanation:

because according to 2n^2.Its electronic configuration will be 2,8,7.and in Al3+=it's ec is 2,8,3.So it will lose 3 electron to get stable(nearest noble gas configuration)In AL3+No of electrons will be 2,8. Hope this will help
