The perimeter of the rectangle.

Solution,

The formula of area of the rectangle is (l × b) where l is the length of the rectangle and b is the breadth of the rectangle.

Area of given rectangle = 24 cm².

⇒   l × b = 24  cm² where length = 6cm

⇒   6cm × b = 24cm².

⇒   b = 24cm²/6cm

⇒   b = 4cm

Therefore the breadth of given rectangle is 4 cm.

Formula of perimeter of rectangle  = 2(l + b)

Now, the perimeter of rectangle with length 6 cm and breadth 4 cm is

⇒   2(l + b) cm

⇒   2(6 + 4) cm

⇒   2(10) cm.

⇒   20 cm.

Hence, the perimeter of a rectangle with a length of 6 cm and breadth of 4 cm is 20 cm.
