Question :
Calculate the Pressure exerted when a force of 150N is acted on an area of 3m².
Given :
- Force applied = 150 N
- Area = 3m²
To Find :
- Pressure exerted
Solution :
The relation between Pressure , Force and area is given by ,
We have ,
- F = 150N
- A = 3m²
∴ The pressure exerted when a force of 150 N acts on an area of 3m² is 50 Pascals (or) 50 Pa (or) 50 N/m²
Additional Info :
- Pressure is directly proportional to Force acting and inversely proportional to Area
- SI unit of Pressure is N/m² (or) Pascal. Because Force has an SI unit of 'N' and Area has an SI unit of 'm²' . Since Pressure = Force/Area = N/m² = 1 Pascals
