Ratio of gold to copper in the final alloy formed  is 138 : 37

Given :  alloy formed by mixing 3 alloys in the ratio 1:2:2 having gold to copper ratio as 4:1, 5:2 and 6: 1

To Find : Ratio of gold to copper in the final alloy formed

Solution:

Three alloys are mixed in ratio  1 : 2 : 2

Let say they are  35x , 70x , 70x

gold to copper ratio  4 : 1 ,  Total = 35x

4 + 1 = 5

Gold = ( 4/5) * 35x  = 28x

Copper = (1/5) * 35x = 7x

gold to copper ratio  5 : 2 ,  Total = 70x

5 + 2 = 7

Gold = ( 5/7) * 70x  = 50x

Copper = (2/7) * 70x = 20x

gold to copper ratio  6 : 1 ,  Total = 70x

6 + 1 = 7

Gold = ( 6/7) * 70x  = 60x

Copper = (1/7) * 70x = 10x

Total Gold =  28x + 50x  + 60x  =  138x

Total Copper = 7x + 20x + 10x = 37x

Ratio  is  138x : 37x

= 138 : 37

Ratio of gold to copper in the final alloy formed  is 138 : 37
