Resistance is directly proportional to the length of the conductor and inversely proportional to area.
If diameter is doubled, then radius also becomes doubled. Hence area increases by twice.
=> Resistance is directly proportional to 1 / area.
=> If area is doubled, Resistance gets reduced by 1 / 2.
Hence the resistance will be half of the original resistance as the area gets doubled due to doubled diameter.
