what will be the time period of a simple pendulum if:
1.length of pendulum is made 9 times of original length.
2.Pendulum is taken to a place where the value of g is 4 times that of the surface of the
Earth.
3.mass of the bob is halved!?

Answer:

1 3T

2 At any height h from the surface, the gravitational pull is

g′=(1+Rh)2g

Here H=R  (as given)

g′=(1+RR)2g

⟹g′=4g

So Time period  T=2πg′l

T=2πg/4l

Also given that l=1  and g=π2

T=2ππ2/41

⟹T=4s

3. The time period of simple pendulum id given by

T=2πgl

where, l= length of simple pendulum

g= acceleration due to gravity

T= Time period

The time period of simple pendulum is independent of the mass of bob, the time period remains unchanged,when mass of bob will change.

The correct option is Remain Unchanged
