The formula is 2^n where n is the number of mitotic divisions. As per the question, 2^n=64.

=>2^n=2^6

=>n=6

After 6 mitotic divisions, 64 cells will be formed.

jahnaviabburi: its wrong
Rajpandey7: lool
jahnaviabburi: the ans is 63 can u pls explain the logic if u get it
gauransh9696: not possible
jahnaviabburi: ya exactly
Rajpandey7: the answer must be a misprint...
jahnaviabburi: ok maybe thanku

6 mitotic divisions are must for the formation of 64 daughter cells from one cell...
1-----2-----4-----8-----16-----32-----64

gauransh9696: not possible... plz check it once again
gauransh9696: fine now....???
jahnaviabburi: the ans is that
jahnaviabburi: but even I feel its wrong
jahnaviabburi: cause 63 is not possible
Rajpandey7: 63 isnt possible......
gauransh9696: I'll confirm with my teacher
gauransh9696: then I'll tell..
jahnaviabburi: ya pls do
gauransh9696: i have confirmed it..... 63 divisions are required if the division is meiotic but if the division is mitotic(as per the ques), only 6 divisions are required to produce 64 daughter cells
