1 single mitotic division leads to two daughter cells
   2 power n = 64
   2 power 6 = 64
∴ 6 mitotic divisions occur to produce 64 daughter cells

ANSWER:

The number of division should be six in order to get mitotic division to form the 64 daughter cells.

EXPLANATION:

Mitotis is the process of producing two daughter cells with same genetic makeup. The parental and offspring genetic mapping is same. The single cell division forms two offspring cell.

Mitosis have five different stages the interphase, prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase. Here each stage of mitosis is necessary to take up for replication and cell division. This process occurs in all the eukaryotic cells, which undergo the proper nuclear division.
