If the velocity of the river water is doubled, then it's transporting capabilities will be changed in the following ways -

• Upstream :

For,the upstream river transportation the doubled river speed will be added with the speed of the water vehicle. So,the allover speed will increase a lot and the transportation capabilities will also increase.

[ Upstream = Vehicle speed + Increased river water speed]

• Downstream :

For,the downstream river transportation the doubled river speed will be subtracted from the speed of the vehicle. So, the allover speed will decrease a lot and the transportation capabilities will also decrease.

[ Downstream = Vehicle's speed - River water speed]
