The method is like this:

If the units digit of a number is 'x', then the units digit of the square of the number will be x².

answers:

(i) 1

(ii) 4

(iii) as 9² is 81, we take 1 as the units digit

(iv) 9

(vi) as 5² is 25, units digit = 5

(vii)as 7² is 49, units digit = 9

(viii) as 8² is 64, units digit=4

(ix) 0
