hope it helps

Here by using relation between coefficient of linear expansion and coefficient of cubical expansion, we get

r=3α

α (linear coefficient of expansion)

=31r (coefficient of cubical expansion)

=31×5.1×10−5

=1.7×10−5per C

Answer:

Required value is

 \beta  = 4 \times  {10}^{ - 5} /°C

Explanation:

Given value of α for a solid is

2 \times   {10}^{ - 5}  {k}^{ - 1}

Here

 \alpha  = linear \: expansion

We have to found value of superficial expansion.

We know that,

6 \alpha  = 3 \beta  = 2 \gamma

Now,

6 \times 2 \times  {10}^{ - 5}  = 3 \times  \beta

 \beta  =  \frac{6 \times 2 \times  {10}^{ - 5} }{3}  = 2 \times 2 \times  {10}^{ - 5}  = 4 \times  {10}^{ - 5} /°C

Therefore required answer is

 \beta  = 4 \times  {10}^{ - 5} /°C
