using \:  \: the \: formula \\ a =  \frac{v - u}{t}  \\ where \: v = 20m \: per \: sec \\ u = 15 \: m \: per \: sec \\ t = 10sec

we also know that

a =  \frac{v}{t}  \\ thus \: v = at \\ v =  \frac{1}{2}  \times 40 = 20 \frac{m}{sec}

hence the velocity of car at 40 s will be 20 m/sec
