The perisable items can lead to the growth of non-pathogenic along with the pathogenic micro-organisms.

The microbial activity which occurs in the foods often compromise the sensory characteristics and henceforth this is seen as a spoilage by the consumers.

If their is a growth of pathogens it will lead to the consumers suffering from foodborne diseases.

Due to the existence of the perishable items, there is an expected growth of the pathogenic microorganisms and non pathogenic microorganisms.

EXPLANATION:

The growth of the pathogenic microorganisms lead to major problems, as the pathogenic microorganisms grow in number, it spoils the food and if pathogenic microorganisms grow then it will create a lot of food borne diseases and people will suffer because of them.

Spoilage of food occurs mostly in perishable foods which can spoil or decay easily.
