1) If mucus is not secreted then amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach will increase which can damage our stomach like it would make holes.
2) If Leaves of plants are covered with vaseline then stomata will be blocked as petroleum jelly will not let the air to pass through it. The petroleum jelly will absorb all the heat and this will affect and harm the plant.
