What will happen if a bar magnet is put inside a solenoid (Like an iron core is put in it) ??

If a bar magnet is put inside a current carrying solenoid, it behaves as an electromagnet
Electromagnet will have its magnetic property only when current is allowed to pass through the solenoid

But electromagnet will also be formed if an iron core is used instead of a magnet.... What's the difference?
